Shaping our newest collection

Behind the scenes of how we reinvented our collection EDITION to serve a broader purpose.

To develop this collection, our design team embarked on a journey of exploration, using the design thinking method: 1. Empathise, 2. Define, 3. Ideate, 4. Prototype, and 5. Test.

First, we researched the needs of our sales department, examined the kinds of conversations we were having with our clients, and identified opportunities to extend these conversations more broadly.

We determined that a beautifully designed box would be ideal for containing conversation starters and including various elements for a memorable experience.

Then, we began brainstorming on what types of products and material swatches could spark discussions about our work, production setup, and how best to demonstrate that our material library and collections help clients envision the perfect solution for their needs.

We also looked into what categories would be relevant to clients, and eventually, we developed the look and feel of three brand identities that would suit the concept in an inspiring way.

Our production team in China handled most of the prototyping, resulting in three beautifully crafted boxes that we believe will achieve what we set out to do.

The next phase is testing the results, as our sales representatives begin using these conversation starters to explain what STUDIO 9 is all about. They will bring back insights on what works and what may need adjusting in future collections. And that is the beauty of working with design – there are always opportunities to learn and develop new ideas.
